The Reception!
The food consisted of some hors d'œuvre from the grocery store nextdoor to the church fetched by Shirley's sweet cousin Skip; a couple of pans of Gianni Mazzetti, creative spelling all'Italiano even though it's the "native" party dish of the old Canal Zone, perfectly cooked from Shirley's "authentic" --as in everyone has their own-- recipe by her dear friend Ms. Barbara Smith-Jones, dramatic soprano (details of Ms. S-J's career to be found at http://www.operanightsingers.com/The_Singers.html);and last but not least a "Cake Mosaic", an idea invented by Shirley especially for the occasion, which was a group of several sheet cakes of different composition but uniform size baked by the wonderful ladies of her Bethany Home Group and arranged artfully in a circle around a lovely two-tiered round cake provided by her dear friend Ms. Doris Carlton (inherited from her mom and acting, along with the aforementioned Home Group, as her surrogate family)

Shirley and Roger performed the Official Cake Cutting Ritual with Roger's machete as you will see in the following pictures!

Drink was a lovely punch, again a production of the Home Group ladies:

Mary Bess (Mrs. Tom) Kelly
Sally (Mrs. George) King
Carol (Mrs. Gary) Kyle
Jan (Mrs. Lee) Barriault, and
Jan (Mrs. Myron) Young
along with her lovely daughter Melissa.

The flowers in the Sanctuary were provided and arranged by Shirley's dear friend--this wedding would never have happened without this couple's many dear friends--Lesley Chapin, lyrico-spinto soprano among so many other talents the mind is totally boggled. After the ceremony they were transported quickly and magically to the Fellowship Hall to join the others already gracing the main and individual tables there.

Music was provided by a super CD, Down to Earth, issued by the wonderful group that played for the wedding, Watch the Sky. Now they have just released a new one called Among Friends. The two CD's can be ordered from Watch the Sky, complete information HERE.

No, Gary, it's just not right for the shape of your face. It does look nice with your hair, though! Try the one Sally's holding.
